Casino Holdem is a variant of another well-known poker game, Texas Hold'em. Basically, there is one thing that separates these two game variants from each other: In Casino Hold’em, you play against the house and not against other fellow players. In this article, we take a look at the rules of the game, recommended strategies, and more.
In the game, the goal is to beat the dealer's hand, which is done by getting the best possible 5-card hand. The hand consists of the two cards dealt and the five cards common to the table. Is your hand better than the dealer you have won! It does not get easier. The game is played using a deck of 52 cards.
Casino Holdem: Rules and Gameplay
A game of Casino Holdem Poker is triggered by players placing a bet, which is called an ante. Players can also place an extra bet if desired. Such extra bets allow the player to win if two aces or better appear on the first two cards dealt and the first three community cards. For example, the player will win if an ace appears on the hand and an ace appears among the community cards.
As soon as the ante is placed, the dealer deals two cards. These are distributed with the image side up, so that the value is visible. At the same time, the dealer gets two cards face down. In addition, three folding cards are also dealt on the table. These are visible to both the player and the dealer. Once all the cards have been dealt, it is up to the player to decide whether to continue or fold, based on the value of the cards dealt. If he chooses to fold, this is called a “fold”.
If the player folds, the first bet (ante) will be lost, in addition to the extra bet – if it was made. If the player chooses to continue (called call), a new bet called “call bet” must be placed. This will have double the value of the ante bet. The game continues with the last two community cards being dealt and the player seeing the dealer's cards. If the dealer's cards are not qualified, the player will win the hand. The dealer must have pairs in 4 to continue. The prize will be calculated according to the ante that was entered as a bet.
If it turns out that the dealer's hand qualifies to advance, the player's hand is compared to the dealer's. If the player's hand is the strongest, the prize is a payout according to the ante, as well as a doubling of the call bet! If, on the other hand, it turns out that the dealer's hand is the strongest, the player loses both bets. Nevertheless, it is still possible to win the extra bet, even if the hand should be lost.
If the dealer and the player have the same winning hand, the highest card will determine who wins. A card like this is called a kicker and can be with either the dealer, the player, or among the community cards.
Strategies in Casino Holdem Poker
Although the names of Casino Holdem and Texas Hold'em are incredibly similar, there is a big difference between the two variants. These differences not only affect the course of the game and how the winner is chosen: it also affects the strategies that can be used in the game.
No bluffing in Casino Holdem
Many people know about “bluffing” in poker, but in Casino Hold'em Poker it is simply not possible to bluff in the same way as in Texas Hold'em. In Casino Hold’em, this psychological aspect is gone, as the game is mainly driven by the cards dealt. This is what some players prefer. Casino Hold’em Poker allows the player to focus even more on the cards in front of them.
Learn the rules well in advance
The most important thing you can do is read up on all the rules of the game, so that you understand how the game works. Then you make it easier for yourself later in the game: Knowing which decisions are right in different situations is essential. If you want to go extra thorough, you can find comprehensive guides and books on the subject. There are often exciting tips to be found for becoming a successful Casino Hold’em player.
Experts in poker games and Casino Hold’em often believe that it pays to raise rather than throw yourself into a poker game. But apart from the actual rules of poker games, it is ultimately up to each player to decide how they want to play. Different players will always have different strategies, and you have to know for yourself what feels right at the moment.

This is how Live Casino Hold’em works
Live Casino Hold’em works in the same way as in a real land-based casino, or as a virtual online poker game. The only difference is that it all happens live. This means that a real dealer deals the cards and plays with the players around the table. This is possible thanks to modern technology, where dealers stand in a casino studio and are filmed in real time while playing. The video is sent live to the player sitting on the other side of the screen. The gaming experience is even better because it is possible to communicate both with the dealer and with other players around the table through a live chat function.
One of the differences in Live Casino Hold’em is that the stakes are often a bit higher than usual. In most cases, the lowest bet will be around €5. It will often be possible to bet €500 or more per hand. And there will still be the same opportunity to place extra bets, if you want to make the game even more exciting.
